Avengers: Endgame shows Earth’s mightiest heroes trying to overturn the evil Thanos. As the movie opens, the heroes have suffered many losses, but their hope is rekindled by the brains of Antman (Paul Rudd) who discovers time travel using the Quantum Realm. The desperate band of heroes, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) try to restore the hope that was lost. If they fail, Thanos will create a new universe “born from blood.”

This action-packed thriller is the real McCoy for the Marvel Studios. This film is a theatrical blockbuster. It exceeded the Box Office sales that Avatar set the record for. Its budget was around 400 million dollars, and it was used extensively to produce the blockbuster of the year. This is evidence that this film is worth the watch, and it is worth the time. It is wise to be prepared for the long haul, for the film is 3 hours in length. Therefore, obtain snacks and drink so you are comfortable at home.

This movie is an action, fantasy film. A suggestion to be made is this: to understand the film, it is wise to view Captain America: Civil War and Avengers Infinity War. This is because many references from these films are mentioned throughout. There is a scene in Endgame where Captain America gets his shield back from Iron Man. Without this prior knowledge from the other films, the common viewer may miss the relevance of this scene. They may even ask the question, “Why did Captain America not have his shield already?” Watching these two movies, in the listed order above, will help the viewer understand Endgame in a more sufficient manner. However, it is highly recommended to watch all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films to truly grasp what will be going on with Endgame.

The first hour of the film is slow. In fact, it is the speed of a snail to start. If the viewer can manage to conjure up the patience to deal with this agonizing hour of boredom, then they are in for the treat of a lifetime. I mention boredom because it is the mere objective of what should they do next. Should they move on, or should they find a way to maintain hope? Once the decision is made, then the viewers will enjoy the roller coaster ride that proceeds within this film. It is emotionally charged, and it will bring even the strongest man and woman to tears. The thrill is immense, and it is so intense that the excitement boils the air around the viewer.

There are some tough scenes to look out for. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is sacrificed for the Soul Stone. She is one of the lovable characters from the original six that sparked the Avengers initiative. This scene sequence is sad, but again the intensity builds because her friend, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), does not want her to face the sacrifice. They brawl, and she inevitably begs to take the fall. Another sad scene to be on the lookout for is the death of Iron Man. He is the beloved perfecter of the time traveling experience that Antman created so that the Avengers can obtain the stones. Without Stark, the perfection would not have been possible. He was the center of the Marvel Universe, so his death hit harder for the true fans of the journey. Needless to say, he is the real hero of the film, but others may try to say that it was the rat that saved the world. The rat was the one to bring Antman out of the Quantum Realm. Antman had the ability of time travel already prepared. An argument can be made of who the real hero is, but the film says that it was Tony Stark, A.K.A. Iron Man.

Each character played their part and fulfilled their roles with dignity. The cast had a lot of ground to cover, and even 3 whole hours did not seem long enough to project the fullness of the film. I say if it were closer to 5 hours, it would have hit the mark for all the scenes to be thoroughly made. It still looked as though certain areas were strained for everything they were while other scenes came off as rushed. Who cares, right? Captain America went back in time to live the life that he missed while frozen under the ice!

Endgame is meant to be seen solely by those who are fans of the Marvel universe, and it is also for both the children and the adults to truly enjoy. Many fans suggest that the movie is better suited for those who are thirteen years of age and older, but the film can still be pleasing to children. Viewers will be able to enjoy intense action, and it will spark the interests that young teens will have when seeking an action film. The Russo Brothers really hit the nail on the head when developing this action-packed adventure. What I mean is, the Russo Brothers went above and beyond for this finale. They went all out. Parents can enjoy the ease of allowing their older children to watch this film. There might not be a need for a babysitter.

If viewers have a solid 3 hours to spare, this movie is a good watch. Beware, however. There are many slow scenes in the beginning. Despite all of this, it is worth every ounce of the 3 hours it takes to watch this film. Even Professor Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) would agree that this film is an absolute win!
